Volvo Will Be Building Its First Electric Vehicle in China
At the recently concluded Shanghai auto show, Volvo revealed that they’ll come up with its first ever fully electric vehicle, China-made. This much anticipated e-car will be available in 2019 and will be distributed worldwide from China. The yet-to-be-named EV will likely be based from Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). China, being the biggest sales market for EVs and car market overall, is aiming for electrification as a way to curb the Asian country’s air pollution problems. Volvo Cars is all up for China’s cleaner air goals as also stated in their latest 5-year plan.
