Volkswagen's Electrify America Will be Creating Additional EV Charging Stations
VW's Electrify America is planning on incredibly growing its system of electric vehicle chargers at Walmart sites, focusing on heartland states. Currently, Electrify America owns over 120 charging stations operating at Walmart stores in 34 states. The 2 companies didn't divulge how many more they're looking to add. However, some sources who know of Electrify America's objectives said they're planning to come up with 180 extra chargers at various Walmart sites by the end of the year. Electric car ownership is heavily concentrated in the east and west coasts. As Walmart offers branches all over the US and easily accessible to major roads, that makes it geographically beneficial for VW & Electrify America.
