Uber’s Self-Driving Dreams in CA is A No-Go

Uber is officially banned from testing their self-driving cars on San Francisco’s public roads. The CA Department of Motor Vehicles recently cancelled their registrations for all autonomous vehicles deployed in California. The transportation company is now seeking where they can possibly redeploy these cars. The state’s driverless driving permit requires a minimum of $5 million proof of insurance coverage. It’s not clear whether or not Uber will undergo the normal application process anytime soon.
