Uber Developed Software to Interfere with Lyft
FBI is investigating Uber whether or not the ever-controversial ride hailing company utilized a system to illegally monitor Lyft drivers. Apparently, Uber developed a program they internally nicknamed “Hell” to track Lyft divers from 2014-2016, according to The Wall Street Journal. One of the Hell’s features is the ability to identify drivers who are both using Uber and Lyft, and Uber used that data to tempt drivers to ditch Lyft using cash incentives. Uber also allegedly made bogus Lyft rider accounts to determine the number of Lyft drivers available in specific spots at specific times. Equipped with those figures, Uber would then swoop in to fill the void.
