Toyota Teaming Up with Mazda and Denso for EV

Toyota is trying their best to catch up to the ever-burgeoning electric vehicle industry. As such, this Japan’s largest car manufacturer is collaborating with Mazda, and Denso, an auto parts supplier, to build electrified vehicles. This new joint venture, called EV Common Architecture Spirit Co., will work together on developing the design and elements of electric vehicles to be utilized in a variety of segments, such as mini-cars, SUVs etc. This team up is expected to offer a toolkit of mechanisms that both Toyota and Mazda can draw from when creating their own EVs. Toyota’s Executive VP Shigeki Terashi also believes that sharing tech will provide either companies more volume and reduce expenses.
