These Carmakers are Collaborating to Create Pickups and Vans

Ford and Volkswagen will be teaming up to come up with midsize pickups and commercial vans sometime in year 2022. They're also considering developing self-driving vehicles, electric cars and mobility services. The automakers didn't disclose any information about production volumes or factory sites but current ones shall be used. Particularly, Ford will engineer and manufacture midsize pickups for both brands for Europe, Africa and South America. On the other hand, Volkswagen will create “city van” for the European market. This joint venture will allow both automakers to share development expenses, boost their own manufacturing capability, augment the competitiveness of their cars and more.
