The Rise of Self-Driving Shared Electric Vehicles

A recent study shows that because of the ongoing transportation revolution, about 95% of US car miles will be in self-driving shared EVs by 2030. RethinkX, the UK research group behind this study, looked at present technologies and utilized traditional economic models for the research. They also found out that those driverless cars will comprise 60% of the total number of vehicles in America. This major change in transportation will consequently and radically decrease individual car ownership. The research firm further predicts that this will lead to fewer passenger vehicles—dropping from 247 million in 2020 to just 44 million by 2030.
