Tesla is Letting Go of “Motors” from its Official Name

First off, Tesla sans “Motors” sounds simpler yet more impactful. Good move, branding wise. Tesla first omitted the “motors” from their domain name July of last year after launching Tesla Energy and prior to Elon Musk started the process of securing SolarCity, which came into fruition in November. This decision is similar to Apple dropping “Computer” from its name back in 2007; the year they introduced the first iPhone. Besides, Tesla is more than just a car company now, but also a sustainable energy provider.
