Tesla Hands Over the Keys for First 30 Model 3s
The cheapest Tesla is here. Almost. The electric vehicle company delivered the first 30 Tesla Model 3 cars to staff last week at an event at its Fremont facility in CA. But the $35K model won’t be available until late 2017. The initial batch of Model 3s will be equipped with long-range battery (+ $9K to the base price for 310 miles of range). Now, the regular batt on the base model is going to have a 220 miles of range and is arriving this fall. Elon Musk also expects they will experience “manufacturing hell” to fulfill their outrageous production goals—about 20K Model 3s a month in December, which totals to 500K cars a year come 2018.
