Recall Alert for FCA Ram Trucks

FCA is recalling specific Ram trucks in America, as they might involuntarily change out of the Park mode. This particular recall alert is for models that are equipped with column shifters. Apparently, the brakes on some Rams could malfunction if exposed to hot temperature for an extended time, causing the gear to move out of Park when the driver’s foot is off the brake pedal or when the key isn’t in the ignition. Some models that are affected include 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and many others except all 2017 model-year trucks manufactured after December 31, 2016. Fiat Chrysler also knows about the 7 potentially relevant injuries from this issue plus a small number of possibly linked accidents. The Italian-American automaker will fix the BTSI (Brake Transmission Shift Interlock) function. FCA will inform all affected clients when they can visit dealerships and have their faulty trucks fixed.
