Porsche Leaning Towards Hybrids & EVs, Stops Diesel
Porsche will no longer be offering diesel cars and trucks. Instead, they will be concentrating on gasoline, electric and hybrid cars, as need for diesel is gradually decreasing. As the German sports car company looks forward to a diesel-free future, they will also be investing over 6 billion euros ($7.1 billion) on EVs by 2022. Nonetheless, their current diesel clients will still be served. Porsche mentioned that their hybrid vehicles are becoming more and more popular, roughly 63% of buyers of the Panamera coupe in Europe choosing the semi-electric type. The carmaker will also launch the Taycan model in 2019, which is their 1st fully-electric sports car inspired by the Mission E concept vehicle.
