Your car’s kicks are quite a bad news for the environment because of the carbon black they comprise of. Apparently, carbon black aids in making rubber tire sturdier, and provides it its black color but also produces harmful emissions. Fortunately, some researchers from Ohio State University discovered a viable substitute in the form of food waste. To be more specific, eggshells and tomato skins can be used to replace carbon black in tires. These food wastes are overall more eco-friendly and sustainable. Because instead of importing most of carbon black supply, eggs and tomatoes can be obtained locally and their shells and skins no need to be tossed in landfills.
