New York Rewards Electric Cars with New Chargers, Lower Rates, Discounts

Andrew Cuomo, NY's governor, has an objective to decrease carbon emissions by 40% come 2030 versus to the rate they were at back in 1990. To accomplish this, NY has a ton of action plans, such as more affordable charging prices, more accessible charging stations, more discounts for cars equipped with powertrain components. The project is apparently called EVolve NY. Now, the New York Power Authority (NYPA) is utilizing part of the alloted $250 million to launch 200 new 150-kW DC fast chargers—so fast they can charge as quick as 20 minutes. They will be situated in places where the traffic is the busiest, including 5 major cities outside of NYC, also along major thoroughfares like I-90 and I-87 and JFK International Airport. Governor Cuomo is looking at setting up 10,000 chargers all over the state by 2021.
