Mitsubishi Launches a New Plant in Indonesia
Aspiring to be the leading brand in Indonesia, Mitsubishi just recently opened a 160,000-unit-a-year car assembly plant in Bekasi, Indonesia. The ultramodern facility worth $565 million (¥65 billion) is going to provide jobs to about 3,000 workers by March next year. The Japanese carmaker said building a factory will boost their presence there, including other ASEAN countries. Indonesian President Joko Widodo was even present during the grand launch together with Mitsubishi’s top execs. This facility shall begin the production starting with the Pajero Sport SUV.
