Lyft Will Be Providig Waymo Self-Driving Cabs in Phoenix

Google's Waymo autonomous driving car is collaborating with Lyft in AZ to try to attract passengers away from Uber. The partnership will let those who have the Lyft app in Phoenix to call 1 of the 10 self-driving Waymo cars that'll be part of the ride-hailing service towards the end of September. No worries, as Waymo's robot cars will still be controlled by a human behind the wheel in case something fails with the tech. Their role in Lyft's service may make the public feel a bit more comfy about getting in an autonomous driving car. Uber and Lyft think that self-driving vehicles are profitable, though neither has profited for now. On the other hand, Waymo is gradually growing their own ride-hailing service in Phoenix but limited only to passengers who previously joined in the free tests of its autonomous driving tech.
