Lyft Striving Hard to Develop Autonomous Cars

Lyft has just built an autonomous car unit to compete for a place in the self-driving car industry. The 2nd biggest ride-sharing company in the US would soon launch a facility in Palo Alto, CA, which would house hundreds of engineers. Their engineers will work there with other self-driving car specialists to develop autonomous driving systems and technologies. Lyft earlier declared partnerships with Waymo, Nutonomy, General Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. This new pursuit could set them in direct rivalry with some of those partners. Lyft also doesn’t have any plan of making the actual vehicles and so far has no concrete timeline for its autonomous driving goals.
