General Motors Power Steering Recall Alert

GM is recalling about 1.2 million model-year 2015 SUVs and trucks worldwide because of an issue with the electric power steering software. They had previously dealt with the same problem wherein they recalled about 700K model-year 2014 pickups. Apparently, some 2015 Tahoe, Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, GMC Sierra and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade can malfunction and then abruptly return because of faulty electric power steering system. Should this occur on a low-speed turn, the sudden steering assistance may result to a crash. So far, there are 30 crashes and 2 injuries linked to this problem, which GM is aware about. Owners of the concerned cars shall be informed and advised to visit a dealership. Technicians will then update the electric power steering system for free.
