General Motors Downsizing Staff at Overseas HQs
GM reportedly will be cutting costs. They will reduce their number of staff at its offshore headquarters in Singapore to avoid potential unprofitable and gloomy sectors. From a total of 180 employees, the American car company is going to let go about 50 people towards the end of the year. They also said last week that it will set them back $500M come 2nd quarter to streamline ops in India, Africa and Singapore. GM might furthermore quit selling Chevys in India by the end of 2017 and will just manufacture cars there solely for export.
