GAC Planning to Enter the US Market by 2019
Guangzhou Automotive Corporation is one daring car company, as it plans to sell Chinese vehicles right around late 2019. During the Detroit Auto Show, GAC summoned Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder to the stage for some snapshots after its presentation. They also mentioned that they’re creating new plants in Detroit and Los Angeles—in addition to a Research and Development facility it launched last year in Silicon Valley. This year, GAC Group exhibited Enverge, a battery-electric compact crossover that oddly has no glass or see-through materials in the side windows. They also displayed the all-new GA4 compact car that they’ll begin selling in China later this month. Now, whether or not their bold goal to penetrate America will come to fruition is another story. For one, the competition is fierce, especially for a new company, according to car expert Tom Libby.
