Ford to Share Electric and Self-Driving Tech

Volkswagen Group and Ford Motor apparently have come to an outline agreement to share electric and self-driving technologies, widening their partnership beyond commercial cars. VW will share with Ford their MEB EV platform. In June, Ford mentioned that their building a group of EVs targeted for the EU audience. But they didn't mention if the electrified cars would be equipped with Volkswagen's platform. This will be the upcoming ID3 battery-electric compact car which will be at the Frankfurt car show this September. VW is looking to sell 150,000 max of EVs on the MEB platform towards the end of next year. VW's joint venture with Ford is most probably going to include an investment in Ford's Argo AI, as per Bloomberg's report last month.
