Ford Targeting Washington DC for Next Autonomous Driving Cars
Ford is looking at making the country's capital a focal point or backbone of their goal to commercially distribute autonomous cars. In 2019, the American carmaker plans to start testing their self-driving tech in Washington, DC, as they're expecting to introduce these rides in 2021. These self-driving vehicles will be both for passenger service and package deliveries. Argo AI, the tech firm developing Ford's autonomous driving tech has started mapping the city the past few weeks, in prep for next year's testing. Washington will be Ford's 2nd city where they'll be beginning their commercial operations in 2021. Just earlier this year, they began testing in Miami, Florida.
