Ford Focus Production to Hit Pause for a Year

After just a little over a year, Ford went from plotting the latest and most fuel-efficient Focus in a new facility in Mexico to ditching those plans and totally axing the production there and transferring it over to China to save costs. Low sales with zero signs of ever soaring made the American automaker decide to outsource instead. And come 2018, Ford will halt making any Ford Focus for North America but we may not even notice it. Local production will conclude mid-2018 and won’t resume in China until around mid to late 2019. Ford also said that this decision will save them about $1 billion.
