End of the Line for Volkswagen's Iconic Beetle
Yesterday, VW has just rolled off its last Beetle at their Pueblo, Mexico assembly line. It's a wrap for this legendary car that survived the Nazi Germany through boho-hippie eras. Unfortunately, its uniqueness and cuteness aren't enough to satisfy consumers' needs and preferences that lean towards SUVs and crossovers. To properly bid Adios, the last batch of Beetles were serenaded by a maiachi band while being surrounded by proud factory workers. In lieu of producing this retro car, the Mexican plant, which already makes VW's Tiguan crossover, will be manufacturing the Tarek crossover beginning in late 2020. Bigger cars are much more preferred in America, and the top export market for this MX plant. The last VW Beetles will be available on Amazon to represent the brand's embrace of the future.
