CEO of Daimler to Resign in 2019

Daimler CEO, Dieter Zetsche has been leading the car company for 12 years now. But he will be stepping down from his position next year and shall be replaced by Ola Kallenius, who is the current R&D head. Dieter's job with the German automaker started in 1976 as a research and development engineer of what was then known as Daimler-Benz. He later held a few management level and board positions in the 1990s. He's managed Mercedes-Benz Cars since 2005. Dieter was then assigned as the chairman of the board of management of then DaimlerChrysler. During his leadership, Mercedes turned out to be the top-selling luxury car company in the world. Mercedes attained this title and recognition in 2016 and has maintained it since then.
