BMW i3 REx Recall Alert
If you drive a 2014-2017 BMW i3 REx hybrid EV, then bad news for you. BMW is recalling some 19,130 of these cars because of possible gas vapor leak. Apparently, there’s a gas tank vent line routed close to the ribbed wire keeping the battery-plus cable sleeve protected. Unfortunately, this line can cause friction when it rubs against the ribbed wire, causing wear and gas vapor leak inside the enclosed engine compartment. This spells a great chance of fire risk. No reported injuries or death related to this problem so far.
