Aston Martin Launches New Plant to Manufacture Its 1st SUV
Aston Martin has just recently opened a brand new factory in Wales to create their 1st ever SUV. The British brand is looking to make up for their bad stats this year. Last month, Aston introduced its DBX to attract more women customers and help improve sales after a year of pre-tax loss because of low demand for their sports cars, especially in Europe. This opening is a big milestone for the company's growth plan and crucial to their goal as a luxury brand, according to CEO Andy Palmer. The St Athan plant near Cardiff in South Wales is the 106-year-old automaker's 2nd car factory after its current site in Gaydon, central England. Aston Martin's share price fell by roughly 75% since a stock market flotation in October last year while the car industry worldwide faces many issues in a few critical markets plus the need to shell out more on electrification.
