2018 Ford Expedition and F-150 Recall Alert
There’s usually a clip that fastens the gear shift cable to the transmission. However, that may not be the case on some Ford SUVs and trucks, as the clip might not be completely seated. And through time this issue can result in the transmission being in a different place than the one chosen by the driver. As per Ford, the driver may be able to switch the shifter to the “Park” option and remove the ignition key even though the transmission isn’t really in that gear. Vehicles will not show any warning signs suggesting there’s a problem. That means, if the driver didn’t apply the parking brake prior to leaving, the car might roll away. Looks like there’s 1 reported accident and injury linked to this issue. This flaw involves specific 2018 Ford F-150 and Expedition equipped with 10-speed automatic transmissions and 2018 F-650 and F-750 cars with 6-speed automatic transmissions.
